Unova: A Unique Co-Working Space in Shenzhen

Unova is not your typical co-working space. Spanning four floors and covering a total area of 8800 sqm, this project offers a range of unique features and functionalities. The first floor serves as a welcoming lobby and reception area, setting the tone for what lies ahead. The second floor is dedicated to dining, providing a vibrant and social space for networking and relaxation.

On the third floor, a variety of small workspaces cater to the needs of younger customers. Xiang Li has carefully designed this floor to reflect the preferences of the target audience, incorporating elements of workplace humor and interactive installations. From sofas and chairs with workplace metaphors to ball pools for brainstorming sessions, this floor is a testament to the fusion of work and play.

The fourth floor, on the other hand, is a large workspace designed for mature and elite groups. With a layout similar to the third floor, this space offers convenience and functionality. The area near the escalators serves as a public reception area, surrounded by spacious office areas that provide privacy and quietness for employees.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was the limited internal structure of the building. To overcome this, Xiang Li removed all the original floor slabs and created an atrium space. By incorporating windows and an open design, the interior space now feels connected to the outdoors, providing a sense of openness and natural light. Additionally, the windows on each floor offer glimpses into the unique theme designs of each level.

Unova's design is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. The interactive installations on the second floor's restaurant area attract attention and create a sense of intrigue. The third floor's playful designs, such as furniture that combines fitness equipment and swings, encourage employees to have fun while working. This innovative approach to office design fosters creativity and productivity.
